Each year, globally, about 14 million people learn they have cancer and 8 million people die from the disease. There are many different types of cancer: breast, cervical, skin, colon and brain just to name a few. Research suggests that one-third of cancer deaths can be prevented, but sometimes services and technologies are not widely available especially in low income countries. Cancer has taken so many of our loved ones. Some of us have actually had to endure the pain of watching a loved one be physically destroyed by this disease. I can only imagine being close to someone and having to witness such a thing. I just want to take the time to shout out survivors around the world who are kicking cancer’s ass! To know that you have a life threatening disease and still fight for your life really shows strength, courage, and will. To those who have passed away from cancer I say rest up. Your suffering is now over!
This is my moment of silence to each victim and each survivor. I salute you all.
I dedicate this blog to Resse McCoy and all of our fighters and fallen. We love you and your spirit lives on.
